What tests do I need?

HOW TO SUBMIT A SAMPLE OF SOIL, COMPOST,
COMPOST TEA OR FOLIAGE FOR ANALYSIS

PLEASE DOWNLOAD A SUBMISSION FORM TO SEND IN WITH YOUR SAMPLE (click on one of the links at
bottom left).  INCLUDE AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN PROVIDE YOU WITH THE
BEST FEEDBACK.

SOIL SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

•        Take several representative 1” diameter cores
from the upper 3” of the soil or the zone of absorbing
roots.
•        Mix the cores together.
•        Place 2 cups of this mixture in a sealable
sandwich-size plastic bag, to maintain moisture
content.             
•        Send samples by Next Day Mail or similar
service for most accurate results.
•        Be sure to include roots if we will be testing for
mycorrhizal colonization.

LEAF ORGANISM SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

•        Take a sample before compost tea application,
and another after sprays have dried.
•        Sample from the top, middle and bottom of the
treated plants.                        
•        Place before and after samples in marked
separate sealable plastic bags.

Send samples by Next Day Mail or similar service..

COMPOST TEA SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

•        Use a clean 1 liter plastic bottle.
•        Take several small samples from the center of
your brewer and mix them together.
•        Fill bottle with 1/3 tea and 2/3 air.                        
•        Send samples by Next Day Mail or similar
service for most accurate results.

COMPOST SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS

•        Take several samples from 6-12” into the pile,
halfway between the top and the ground.
•        Mix the  samples together.
•        Place 2 cups of this mixture in a sealable
sandwich-size plastic bag.                              
•        Send samples by Next Day Mail or similar service
for most accurate results.
